how long will soundcaster beta live until it expires?

Audiofusion responded on 07/06/2018
A

Hi!
The beta version of SoundCaster will be available until our 1.0 release which, hopefully, is just a week or so away. When SoundCaster becomes available, the initial $99 download will allow you to connect one Performer. You can test the system and see how it works on your gear. Then you can add additional connections for $99 each as needed.

Hi Johnny,
which version of SoundCaster are you using?
Earlier beta versions had an issue with the Yamaha TF which we fixed in beta version 0.0.14

Brandon

hola , tengo un mixer analogo, puedo usar un convertidor Behringer Powerplay P16-i , para porder usar su sistema?

quedo atento a sus comentarios

Audiofusion responded on 07/05/2018

The behringer powerplay P16 is only for use with the Ultranet system on Behringer consoles. Apple's core audio does not recognize the proprietary output from the P16 as audio. You would need some other kind of audio interface to convert the analog to digital.

About to push the button on purchasing soundcaster and I would just like to know more about how it could possibly work with the Behringer XR18. As well as with performers that are not running IOS but Android. thanks.

Hi Alec,
I just sent you an email to get you started. You may need to pick up a used iPhone 6 or two for your Android users. You can get them for under $200 these days. You don't need a sim card or mobile service plan. you only use the Wi-Fi.
thanks,
Brandon

Q

Will Soundcaster work with the Behringer XAir 16? I don‘t know how I can connect the Digital Mixer to my MacBook, so i have all different Channels. Via Ethernet?
Maby you can use the wifi from the Behringer to geht started with Audiofusion or is the Power too low?
Can i geht the Beta to Test it out?

Hello Merlan (Screap),
Unfortunately, the XAir 16 has only the 'A' type USB connector which will give you only a L/R out. The XR-18 has the 'B' type USB connector that will give you full multi channel audio out. The Behringer Wi-Fi can connect only to the Behringer. You will need an external router to run Audio Fusion. You can run the Behringer app on the same external router but you cannot run Audio Fusion on the Behringer router. I just sent over an email to get you started with the beta.
Thanks,
Brandon

So I purchased the soundcaster app but I can not click on the input devices drop down menu. I have opened my universal controller for my Persons 32.4 AI and that works fine. But It seems as if soundcaster is not detecting it. It is connected via firewire and also through a firewire to thunderbolt adapter. Anything I need to do to get this up and running?

Hi Pat,
Apple was not supposed to release SoundCaster for purchase yet. The version we had available for Pre order was 0.0.13 which had a conflict with the latest release of MacOS. Sent me an email at leafblad@audiofusionsystems.com and I can send you 0.0.14
Thanks,

Q

Brandon - do you know if SoundCaster understands the output from an AVIOM A-Net 16 Pro output? I am realizing that our Soundcraft Si board has an AVIOM output card and not the DANTA card I originally expected.

Hi Steven,
The problem with many of these proprietary boxes is they don't with each other. I don't think Apple's core audio will recognize audio coming the the Aviom A-net ouput. SoundCaster will only recognize audio input devices that core audio presents. Unfortunately the Soundcraft Dante card is $900. The total cost of the system would still be significantly less than any other hardware based system or wireless IEM bodypacks but a bummer none the less.

Is it possible to connect to macbook ad-hoc network and allow recording at the same time?

Audiofusion responded on 06/28/2018

Hi Douglas,
Some of our testers have experimented with the Ad-hoc network with varying sound quality. Send me an email and you can try it for yourself. Send me an email to leafblad@audiofusionsystems.com
I my experience the reason you wouldn't be able to record and use Audiofusion at the same time is because Apple's core audio will not allow two DAWs to use the same audio device.
That does not affect our software's ability to send audio out through the ethernet port to the router. I'm not sure how the ad-hoc network will help your recording conflict.
